YouTuber Eugenia Cooney Announces She’s ‘Seeking Medical Help’

YouTube star Eugenia Cooney has announced she’s taking time away from social media to seek medical help.

YouTube star Eugenia Cooney has announced that she’s taking some time away from social media, and her YouTube channel to seek medical help.

The 24-year-old, who has 1.5million subscribers, revealed that has decided to take some time away to focus on her health. Posting a selfie on Twitter, Eugenia announced: “Hi guys! I appreciate the concern. I’m taking a break from social media and voluntarily working on this with my doctor privately. Please respect that.”

Over the past few weeks, fans noticed that Eugenia’s YouTube uploads of her normal fashion hauls and make-up tutorials had been a lot less than usual, sparking concern for the content creator. Back in January, Eugenia was forced to confront rumours online that she had died from an ongoing illness, where she dismissed it as ‘crazy’ and went on to assure fans that she was fine.

“Hey guys! I’ve been offline for a while and I’m sooo sorry if I worried anyone! That was not my intention at all. I’ve just been taken a much needed break from the negativity and having some positive time offline. I’ll be back soon! :),” she wrote.

Eugenia went on to add: “Btw I’m so sorry people make up such crazy stuff, but I am alive and definitely not dead. I was really surprised to hear that was going around about me, but everything is fine!”

Eugenia has previously suffered concern for her ‘worryingly thin’ look for a few years now, and has even been the subject of horrible conspiracy theories about her mental health. Many fans have also reached out to popular YouTube documentary creator, Shane Dawson, begging him to do a series with Eugenia to ‘get her the help she needs’.

Fans were relieved after hearing that she was working privately with her doctor, with many rushing to support the star on social media.
