If 2019 wasn’t already giving us enough weird news thanks to Kelsy Karter getting Harry Styles tattooed on her face, a strange turf war has emerged between fans of Ruben Fleischer’s Venom and serial killer Ted Bundy.
I’m not joking, this is a genuine feud taking over social media.
It’s been exactly 30 years since Bundy was executed for the murders of over 30 people between 1977 and 1978. Despite Bundy’s horrific legacy, he’s still got a loyal following of ‘fans’ who are obsessed with anything Bundy-related.
Bundy has started to grab headline thanks to Netflix’s Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes documentary, which apparently hasn’t sat well with Venom fans.
Although the streaming giant has already told viewers to stop finding Bundy attractive, this is set to get even worse thanks to Zac Efron’s upcoming role in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. People have been branding the serial killer ‘hot’ before the Baywatch star has even stepped into his shoes.
In contrast, Venom’s fanbase already had the hots for Eddie Brock before the muscular Tom Hardy played him in last year’s movie. The A.V. Club reports that the Venom f*cker community is less than impressed by Bundy’s new-found fame. A tweet appeared over the weekend as one Venom f*cker came for the so-called Bundy f*ckers.
Considering one is a fictional antihero from the pages of Marvel Comics and the other is a real-life serial killer, it’s hard to imagine how/why these two would ever be pitted against each other. Either way, the original Venom tweet has had over 3,700 likes.
The A.V. Club tried to delve a little deeper into the psyche of these Bundy and Venom f*ckers. As the site points out, there’s a large small sect of people out there who want to have “wet, slimy sex with Venom—not Tom Hardy”.
Things soon descended into pure social media carnage with the general public caught between two psychopath-loving sides.
Ted Bundy was a real life serial murderer. Family of the victims of Ted Bundy are still alive. Venom is a comic book character. Can we maybe not do this

The big difference between Venom and Ted Bundy is that Venom is a FICTIONAL CHARACTER and Ted Bundy was a REAL PERSON WHO REALLY KILLED AND TORTURED WOMEN

The insanity doesn’t stop there as even Venom comic book writer Donny Cates has decided to share his thoughts on the matter. Unsurprisingly, he isn’t on Team Bundy.
Yeah. Yeah that’s gonna happen.
That’s gonna happen for sure. https://t.co/0rveRRDqa5

It looks like things aren’t going to die down anytime soon, with one Venom f*cker even trying to champion a boycott of Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
To be honest, I wouldn’t want to meet either Bundy or Venom IRL, let alone have relations with them. If I was a betting man though, I’d probably expect the gloopy symbiote to win in a fight.
