Fans everywhere are rejoicing after the news came that popular TV show Revenge would be getting a new reboot.
ABC are reportedly developing a follow up to the original series, and it is said to follow a young Latinx immigrant who is guided by an original series character as she arrives in Malibu to exact revenge on a Sackler-esque pharmaceutical dynasty, whose insatiable greed lead to the murder of her biochemist mother, the destruction of her family, and a global epidemic, according to Variety.
The original series ran for four seasons and starred Emily VanCamp as the main character. It is not known whether any of the original cast will be joining on to star in the reboot, or even who has been cast for the upcoming sequel as far as ANY actors go – which makes us believe that it is in the early stages of development.
Speaking about upcoming shows this year, ABC president Karey Burke told The Hollywood Reporter: “We’ll continue to lean into the female-forward but not male-repellent character dramas and comedies going forward,” she said.
“That means not necessarily female leads, but some entry point for our female audience, which is large.”
