Another day, another moment that Piers Morgan has aggravated the UK public, and this time it’s because of a comment he made toward’s Good Morning Britain’s meteorologist, Laura Tobin.
Piers was also branded ‘sexist’ and ‘creepy’ by fellow GMB co-star Susanna Reid after he commented on Laura’s fake leather trousers, accusing her of ‘wearing them deliberately to get people to notice’, saying she was ‘parading around in hot pants’.
The 38-year-old woman hit back at Piers, and Tobin pointed out quickly that he red trousers were ‘sustainable’ fake leather from Zara, to which Piers replied: “They’re certainly sustaining me.”
Morgan then went that little bit further to accuse Tobin of ‘not dressing appropriately for a weather presenter’ and said: “When a female presenter parades herself in skintight leather trousers to do the weather, you are going to get people going, ‘Wow'”.
Following his comments, Good Morning Britain became inundated with tweets showing their support to Tobin over Morgan’s comments, one of which he went on to read aloud during the show, which said: “Well out of order, the sexist comment on Laura Tobin’s trousers. A woman should be able to wear what she likes without it being sexualised.”
The 54-year-old presenter retorted back: “If she is going to wear figure-hugging leather trousers I am going to notice.”
Morgan then aimed it back at Tobin, saying: “You deliberately wore them to get people to notice, all of you wear clothes hoping they will get noticed. If I call you hot, why is that offensive?”
To which Reid hit back at her co-presenter, stating:”Because people don’t want to be objectified at work.” Susanna then accused her co-presenter’s comments of being “slightly creepy”.
Reid added: “Complimenting each other is not the same as sexualising each other. You’re saying ‘hot’ as an alternative to ‘sexy’.”
