RIP.

Today marked the day of late Love Islander Mike Thalassitis’ funeral, and reality stars, friends and family of Mike travelled down to Southgate, North London to lay their loved one to rest.

Close friend, Montana Brown could be seen sobbing as she entered the church, shortly after announcing that she would be making a speech during the service. She shared a heartbreaking post about Mike earlier this morning on her Instagram, saying: “Miss the FaceTimes never felt so empty and anxious. Hope you’re above listening to my speech today… I know you’re pointing your finger at me right now and saying “you cow” for uploading this #youwillneverbeforgotten #loveyou.”

She added: “Wished today would never come”.

Fellow Love Island contestants, Jamie Jewitt, Amber Davies and Camilla Thurlow all showed up to mourn the loss of their friend, and Caroline Flack even joined along to pay her respects. The pair were once linked together as a couple.

Following Mike’s death, his manager Dave paid tribute to his former client, writing: “I’ve lost a great friend this weekend. We went out last week and as always you made me laugh with your quick wit. You were far too good looking, like some kind of Greek God. A well mannered gentleman and fantastic client who I am proud to call my mate. You have left me a broken man, my heart feels shattered.”

One person noticeably absent from the service was ex-girlfriend Megan McKenna, who is currently in Nashville recording new music and dealing with her own grief personally. She has been papped looking extremely downcast while fetching food in Nashville following the funeral of her ex-boyfriend.

It has been revealed that music from the service included tracks by Phil Collins, Cat Stevens, Coldplay’s heartbreaking ballad Fix You, and Mike & The Mechanics’ – The Living Years.

Mike’s family have asked for donations to be made to mental health charity CALM in his memory.
