Maura cemented herself as a firm fan-favourite during her time on Love Island and ended up making it to the final alongside partner Curtis.
Things might not have gotten off to the best start though even before the show had begun, after it emerged that Curtis had actually slid into the DMs before their time in the villa.
In fact it’s a good thing the pair met on the show, as Maura confessed she would never have responded to his advances online.
She told The Sun on Sunday: “I have to meet someone in person and build things from there.”
We recently learned that Maura had already landed herself a huge TV role, despite barely being out of the villa a week.
Higgins will be joining Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as a presenter on This Morning.
The Love Island finalist will host her own segment titled ‘Maura Than Meets the Eye’ a series of short films in which she will reportedly takeson challenges across the country.
Maura will also apparently host her own agony aunt style phone-in, where she offers viewers no nonsense advice on their troubles.
“I’m getting flutters about joining This Morning,” she joked “I can’t believe it. It’s beyond my wildest dreams.
“I’ve grown up watching Phillip, Holly, Eamonn, Ruth and the team. Mad to think I’m now part of that iconic family. Can’t wait to crack on.”
This Morning editor Martin Frizell said: “Maura was the stand out star of this year’s villa antics with her straight-talking opinionated views.”
