On Sunday 12 January, Love Island returned to ITV for its first ever Winter season in South Africa.
While the first episode and new Islanders seemed to go down well with viewers, there was one moment in particular that stood out for fans, and left them feeling confused.
During one scene, a man can be seen standing in the villa bushes, and some viewers are likening him to creepy stalker Joe Goldberg from Netflix’s hit series, You.
One user wrote: “Anyone else noticed when Sophie goes to chat to Conor on the beds outside, as Iain says ‘better late than never’ there is a creepy guy stood in the bushes?!?!”
Other Twitter users joked that it was actually singer Lewis Capaldi hiding in the bushes, checking up on his ex-girlfriend Paige Turley, who entered the villa in last night’s episode.
Sunday’s show saw Laura Whitmore take the helm as presenter following Caroline Flack’s departure due to an altercation with her boyfriend before the show was due to start.
While fans were mostly divided by Laura’s presenting skills, it seems that majority of people thought she fit in quite nicely with the show, and that she would be a great host going forward.
I personally agree, and I think we all have to remember that like Holly Willoughby on I’m A Celebrity when Ant McPartlin had taken a year out, Laura is likely to be nervous and knowing that the whole UK is probably judging her every move – so give the woman a chance to get used to it!
