Love Island 2020 has only been back on screens for a few days, and already the UK is getting to know this year’s contestants and what their all about.
One contestant received quite a bit of media coverage before her entry into the villa because she once dated Lewis Capaldi, and that woman is Paige Turley.
Paige’s secret ex-boyfriend became villa knowledge last night during a game of Spill The Tea, where the rest of the Islanders found out about her famous ex-boyfriend, but now Lewis has spoken out about Paige’s appearance on the ITV2 show in a recent radio interview.
Speaking to the host, Lewis told them that it ‘would have been nice to have had a heads up’ that Paige was planning on going on the show, and continued: “The prize is like £50,000 and I’ll be like “Well, listen. They asked you to go on it right I’m not saying I’m the reason but also… slide me two grand”.”
Speaking on The Edge in New Zealand, Lewis said: ‘I’ve known her for years, we were 18 when we first met, 19 when we first started going out and 20 when we finished going out.
“It was fairly amicable, the split. She never told me she was going on the show. That would have been a nice heads up! But I mean fair play, good luck to her.
“I’ll be f***ing watching it! Aye, I’ll be watching it and going “Go on Paige! Come on, come on!” And when she’s on a date with a boy I’ll go “Come on! Kiss him!” I hope she wins.”
Fair play, Lewis. Takes a good sport to want to see his ex-girlfriend do well in her new endeavour. Paige is currently coupled up with Ollie Williams on the ITV2 show.
