James Corden has lashed out at a Twitter troll after they wished that ‘his child would get cancer’.
The comments came after Corden did a sketch on his show about Donald Trump, and made a joke about Game of Thrones.
The troll, who seemed to think Corden had given away a spoiler for the HBO show, wrote: “It’s f*cked up you can’t even watch TV without a fat f*ck spoiling something… Luckily I got to see it before this, but seriously I hope his kid gets cancer.”
James replied: “That is, without question, the single most upsetting thing I think you could ever say about me or my family.
“Please take a minute and think about what you just wrote and whether you want to be a person who publicly says such things.I believe you’re better than that x”
The troll, clearly panicked, attempted to backtrack, saying: “It was a joke, you know like this segment was”.
James, dad to son Max, eight, and daughters Carey, four, and Charlotte, one, replied: “Well I saw your hope for my son.
“My hope for yours is that they never get to read that their mother or father would wish cancer on any child as ”a joke.”
“Because however you defend it to them, they’ll never be able to understand how you could do such a thing. Night x.”
The joke that started the whole thing was about the fact that US President, Donald Trump, has increased tariffs on Chinese goods. In response, China has done the same to US-made imports.
Corden joked: “Now I don’t like this, I feel like this trade war is going to end with Trump riding on the back of a dragon torching the entire economy. ‘
The star then showed a Photoshopped image of Trump riding Drogon from Game Of Thrones, and torching King’s Landing.
James continued: “You laugh, but it could… you don’t know.
“Now it’s unclear how long this Trade War may last, just to be on the safe side, Trump has already got a note from his doctor so he can get out of it.”
