Game of Thrones fans often have to wait a long time to see the next season of the show. Since the show was first released on April 17, 2011 it has gained a huge following and as soon as each episode is released Twitter is always excited to spoil it for those who haven’t seen the latest episode. The number of times I have seen a spoiler before I have managed to watch the newest release is way higher than it should be.
The release date for the last season was set to be in late 2019 but it seems that they have now brought it forward. Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark in the series, revealed the official release date for season eight in an interview with the Metro.
We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April . That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes.
There’s a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all.
We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities.
Maisie also said later in the interview,
It’s going to be really odd not seeing the cast regularly. We all get on so well and we are such a tight-knit group.
I’ve always said I wanted her to find peace. The things that have been driving her through her story have been very bitter and twisted and aggressive.
I would love for Arya to find her true self again and let go of this anger and revenge that’s accompanied her on this journey. I’d love for her to be happy.
Will you be watching the latest season or have you never loved the series? If not then what are you doing? You have over a year to catch up with the rest of the seasons. That should be just enough time to watch the lengthy seasons!
