Game Of Thrones Releases Official Whiskeys – And They Look Amazing
The new season of Game of Thrones is only a few months away, and in preparation there’s quite a bit of merch that you can buy.
If you love whisky, you’ll be thrilled to know that eight new bottles of the stuff have been released and they look awesome.
Each bottle represents one of the Houses of Westeros or The Night’s Watch. As you can see, they also bear the crest of the house it represents.
Plus, it’s proper Scottish whisky so, you know, delicious.
For a bit more insight, whisky distilleries from across Scotland have been paired with individual houses. That’s even cooler, isn’t it? Royal Lochnagar has been paired with House Baratheon, Dalwhinnie with House Stark, Lagavulin with House Lannister and The Singleton of Glendullan with House Tully.
The whiskies are available at Drizly and are priced between $30 (£23.50) and $150 (£117.54). Imagine being the posh b*stard who can afford the $150 one? Please be my friend.
If you like these, but are more interested in a White Walker Whiskey (purely for the alliteration on its own in my opinion) then you’re in luck. Back in October Johnnie Walker released a White Walker whisky.
The drink was specially crafted using two single Scottish malts and is designed to be served freezing cold. That’s a nice touch, isn’t it?
Jeff Peters, Vice President, Licensing & Retail at HBO, said: “We knew there was fan appetite for a Game of Thrones whisky and once we saw Diageo’s vision for a way to collaborate together we knew the idea was perfect and the time was now.
“We’re confident fans will enjoy sipping these delicious whiskies as they wait for season eight and beyond.”
If alcohol isn’t quite your thing, how about a GoT Christmas jumper?
No seriously, Primark has truly outdone themselves this year with their Christmas collection – and with the final season well and truly on its way then you’re going to love their dedicated festive jumper.
For just £14 you can be the happy owner of your very own GOT-themed jumper, and you can make all of your friends feel like peasants while you rule around on your Iron Throne.
Now, if you’re not really a Stark fan then you’re going to be a bit miffed, as that seems to be the only sigil that has made its way into the clothing store, but alas one jumper is better than none – is it not?
If you’re still not impressed, try out the GoT Monopoly for size.
Now I hear you, one already exists and you probably own it – but the new edition actually comes revamped with an Iron Throne that, wait for it… PLAYS THE GAME OF THRONES THEME TO YOU WHEN YOU PRESS IT. Oh the joy
Imagine how intense and exciting it’ll be when you finally manage to get in the lead and celebrate by singing ‘dun dun, du du dun dun du du dunnnnnnn’. The Iron Throne is there to keep your cards warm while you play the game, and there has also been the introduction of some exciting new game pieces to move around the board with. OH and there’s even cool looking Westeros currency to work with rather than Monopoly money.
The game will cost $30 (£23) and will be available to buy in January.
