If you were a fan of Glee, and immerse yourself in all things related to the popular TV programme, then you’ll probably be aware of the ‘on-going rumoured feud’ between co-stars Naya Rivera and Lea Michelle.
If you don’t know about the ‘feud’, then allow me to fill you in on everything that’s happened so far. Basically, back in 2014, rumours began swirling that Naya had been fired from Glee after ‘complaining to producers about Lea’s diva antics’, and many news outlets reported that she was going to be written out of the fifth-season finale.
At the time a representative for Naya told the Hollywood Reporter that the actress had NOT been fired, saying: “Any reports or rumors circulating that Naya Rivera was let go or fired from Glee are absolutely untrue. End of story.”
Then in May 2014, Lea spoke out on the Late Show with David Letterman, seemingly confirming that the rumours ‘weren’t true, saying’, “It’s really unbelievable, the amount of things that can be just completely made up. People like to pit women against each other, and it’s really annoying and really sad.” All over, right? Well, that was until Naya brought out her tell lal back, where she addressed the feud with Lea and claimed that while she doesn’t hate Lea and never has, – she does feel like Lea had trouble sharing the spotlight and would blame Naya for anything that went wrong.
While Naya says in the book that the rumors surrounding the two are blown out of proportion, she also said that Lea reportedly did not talk to her for all of Season 6.
So until 2016, that was all we really had to go on, until recently – when Naya decided to clear up the rumour mill once and for all and reveal what REALLY happened between the actresses.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Rivera was asked about whether or not the ‘beef’ was over between the two as she had liked Lea’s engagement picture on Instagram. Rivera replied: “I don’t think there was like any beef,” before adding: “It’s a good ring.”
So there you have it folks, there wasn’t ‘any beef’ between the two. I know I can personally sleep better at night knowing this information.
