The ‘crossover event’ that she refers to in the caption is currently being filmed. She will feature in crossover episodes ofThe Flash, Arrow and Supergirl ahead of having her own TV series.
In August, she expressed her joy to be playing Batwoman (and her alter ego Kate Kane). Writing on Instagram, she said: “The Bat is out of the bag and I am beyond thrilled and honored. I’m also an emotional wreck.. because this is a childhood dream. This is something I would have died to have seen on TV when I was a young member of the LGBT community who never felt represented on tv and felt alone and different. Thank you everyone. Thank you god.”

However, she faced a backlash from fans after many claimed that a lesbian actress should have been cast in the role. Ruby describes herself as part of the LGBT+ community, as well as ‘gender-fluid’ and blasted the claims as ‘ridiculous’ before deleting her Twitter account.
This comes after Ben Affleck reignited Batman talks thanks to a behind-the-scenes meeting with the bosses at Warner Bros. studios.
The DC Extended Universe has been cast into doubt after the box office disappointment of Justice League, rumours of Affleck’s departure, and Henry Cavill hanging up his cape as Superman.
According to TMZ, the man behind the mask has met with Warner Bros. to discuss his Batman future. The 46-year-old was papped going into a meeting with a stack of papers, sparking speculation that this could be the script for Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
The Caped Crusader conundrum continues as fans still have no idea who will be playing Bruce Wayne/Batman in Reeves’ movie. Batfleck would be a likely candidate, but with everything from another origin story to Jake Gyllenhaal taking over, it’s looked increasingly likely that Affleck is being phased out.
After joining the DCEU for 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Affleck popped up for a cameo in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad and had a major role in Justice League. All these movies have suffered from their own problems and Affleck even stepped down from directing The Batman.
Affleck meeting with execs could mean several things, but it is still far from confirming that he’ll return as the Dark Knight for the upcoming solo movie.
Basically, the DCEU is as mysterious as Bruce Wayne’s alter ego. Barely a day goes by that there isn’t some sort of scandal or piece of news about who is/isn’t leaving the superhero powerhouse. One of the weirdest stories to come out recently was that Games of Thrones‘ Kit Harington could put on the cape and cowl next.
As Warner Bros.’ superhero slate shifts yet again, only Wonder Woman 1984 and Aquaman are certain to hit cinemas any time soon. Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey looks like it’s on the way, but movies like Nightwing, Suicide Squad 2, and The Flash still have more questions marks than the Riddler hanging over them.
The Batman is set to start production in 2019, so expect to find out who will be getting behind the wheel of the Batmobile pretty soon.
