Emily Ratajkowski Accused By Fans Of ‘Fat-Shaming’ Friend On Instagram

She’s not taking this lying down

The Instagram-famous Emily Ratajkowski has been caught in a fat-shaming row as she’s accused of mocking one of her friends on social media. Known for her role in 2014’s Gone Girl, Ratajkowski rose to prominence when she appeared topless in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”

In 2019, come on guys, you know that anything that can be accused of fat-shaming is a stupid decision to make. As models continue to shrink in size and their Instagram follows continue to rise, Ratajkowski is one of the best-known women on Instagram.

Posting a picture on her social media, Ratajkowski has been hounded for using what some followers have called an “unflattering” snap of her friend. One user wrote, “Why would she subject her friend to this humiliation and online bullying by posting this?”

Another mused, “You specifically posted a photo so that it was clear your body is better than the body of your friend.” Someone wrote,”Being fat is not beautiful nor healthy: let’s not be hypocrite please.” A final troll said, “One’s a beautiful pastry and the other look like someone added to much flour.”

Whether it was intentional or not, Ratajkowski has come under fire for the post. The black and white pic showed off Ratajkowski and Caitlin King’s “beach buns” as they took time out of their hectic lifestyles. It was clear that Ratajkowski intended to promote her Inamorata swimwear line. Although over 860,000 people liked the post, some of Ratajkowski’s 22.1 million followers weren’t as impressed.

Refusing to back down, Ratajkowski clapped back at her haters. In the comments section, she wrote, “All these haters are crazy. Just because you’re used to seeing one body type on the internet doesn’t mean that that’s the only kind that should be considered “beautiful’.”

Controversial or not, Ratajkowski’s post got the seal of approval from plus-size model Ashley Graham.

Considering Ratajkowski is a self-confessed feminist and known as an advocate of mental health, it’s likely she never considered the consequences and didn’t mean to offend her friend.
