The Inbetweeners‘ Emily Atack claims that one of her co-stars got a ‘bit too excited’ during filming.
Speaking to Keith Lemon in his new show where he goes shopping with celebs, he said: “You did some quite close scenes with some of the Inbetweeners didn’t ya?”
She replied: “Yeah…”
Keith continued: “What was that like?”
Emily admitted: “I don’t mind doing scenes like that at all, you just get to lie in bed all day with a nice boy, it’s great,
“Well do you know what they say, the men, when you’re about to do a sex scene, they go, “look, I’m sorry if it happens and I’m sorry if it doesn’t.”
She then admitted that one of the boys did get an erection during filminf.
Emily also recently claimed that she was purposefully shunned from the show’s big reunion. Away from her time 2018’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, Atack made a name for herself by playing Charlotte Hinchcliffe on the comedy series.
While it wasn’t the rumoured revival or third feature film based on the loveable losers, Inbetweeners: Fwends Reunited brought back the likes of Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison, and James Buckley to relive some of the show’s most iconic moments.
Speaking to Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast (via The Sun), the 29-year-old highlighted a “snobby” co-star who axed her from Chanel 4’s Fwends Reunited.
While Atack wouldn’t name and shame the cast member who’s to blame, she hinted heavily that it could be James Buckley. Known for playing the nymphomaniac Jay, Buckley was one of the show’s leading men.
One audience member told the site that Atack implied it couldn’t be Joe Thomas because “he’s a lovely man.” When questioned about Buckley, Atack responded “James F***ley” to the tittering of the crowd.
Back in December, it had been announced that Atack was booked as part of the Fwends Reunited list, only to be told last minute that she wouldn’t be needed. Atack has since expressed her own confusion about the whole situation but refused to divulge any more information.
Speaking to Capital FM she confessed, “Unfortunately, I don’t really know what happened there. I was booked to do it, was very much looking forward to doing it and then the day before, I was told I was no longer needed for it.”
She continued: “It’s alright – these things do happen, and I think they just decided to go a different route with it, I don’t know. Or it was to do with production timings and things.”
Fwends Reunited received some pretty average reviews anyway, so it’s not like Atack missed out on much. However, it felt a bit odd that lesser characters got to join in on the fun while Will McKenzie’s main love interest was left on the sidelines.
Whether the boys reunite for a proper continuation of The Inbetweeners remains to be seen. If the dysfunctional quartet gets a new lease of life, it just wouldn’t be the same without Atack reprising her role as the blonde bombshell.
