Dog the Bounty Hunter’s son, Leland Chapman, has been ‘badly hurt’ during a manhunt.
This comes just weeks after the tragic loss of Dog’s wife of 13 years, Beth Chapman.
According to AL.com., Leland was left badly injured after taking down a suspect in Colorado on Tuesday – the first manhunt since Beth’s death.
Leland and Dog were chasing a domestic violence suspect when the incident took place. The father and son duo managed to tackle the fugitive, Edward Morales, however Leland tore a ligament in his knee while it was happening.
His spokesperson told AL that Leland is expected to be out of action for up to six weeks as he undergoes surgery in hospital in Athens, Alabama.
The fugitive, who had been wanted for skipping a hearing after reportedly pleading guilty to harassment last month, was eventually taken into custody.
When Beth, Dog’s partner for 30 years but his wife for 13, passed away on June 26 from throat cancer, he took to Twitter to share an update to his fans.
The 66-year-old wrote: “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”
