To celebrate the return of Game of Thrones and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Deliveroo is bringing chocolate dragon eggs into our lives.

What could possibly beat a weekend hangover as you wrap yourself in some Wildling-inspired furs and binge your way through the Seven Kingdoms? I know, having someone to deliver a pick-me-up of chocolate to your door as well.

As we settle in for HBO’s snowy swansong and Game of Thrones rides back into our lives on the wings of a scaly fire starter, there are just six episodes of the ice and fire epic left.

These supersized dragon eggs should be enough to get through the final run of episodes and last until we find out who (if anyone) is left alive at the end.

Lucky Deliveroo account owners can visit a store called ‘The Hatchery’ between April 14-21. It’s well-timed for the Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere where we pick up with what’s going down in the wintery world of Westeros. If that wasn’t enough to tempt you, each egg is 20cm high, weighs around one kilogram, and costs..wait for it…just 80p.

The chocolate clutch is only available in Manchester, Leeds, or London, but that still means plenty of us will be able to tuck in. Take your pick from emerald green, deep red, or brilliant gold. At 80p, I’ll be buying enough to raise my own army of dragons. Let’s see the White Walkers beat that!

You might remember way back in Season 1 of the show when Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen was given her own trio of dragon eggs. Even with Joffrey on the Iron Throne and Ned Stark losing his head, things were pretty tame back then when compared to the way Season 7 rounded off.

Season 1 wrapped up with Dany mourning the loss of Khal Drogo and taking her dragon eggs into a burning inferno of his funeral pyre. Things didn’t quite work out like that. It turned out that Dany was immune to the flames and that the fire was just what she needed to wake up her dragons. In honour of one of Game of Thrones‘ most iconic moments, Deliveroo’s chocolate dragon eggs pay tribute to the stirring scene.

These choccy celebrations look and sound so good, I’d even be tempted to present one to Daenerys of the House Targaryen: The First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regent of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons.

Although Americans are likely to be a little hot under the collar that they can’t buy these eggs, rest-assured that you can chow down on a pack of special Game of Thrones-themed Oreos that aren’t available over here. It’s unclear whether Deliveroo’s minimum order spend applies, but either way, it sounds like an egg-cellent idea and I’m completely sold on the idea.
