You may remember that last year Build-A-Bear Worksop held a ‘Pay Your Age Day’ event. The queues were so bad that many stores ended up having to cancel the queues due to safety concerns. It was a bit mad.
This year, the event is back. But they have learnt from their mistakes, and have got rid of the queues completely.

Day 14 in the Build a Bear queue: Mums are starting to turn. The only currency is queue spots. Julie from York sold her spot for a reported £50k. Dave the security guy hasn't slept in 4 days. The end is nigh.. pic.twitter.com/5EiLVp5Sry— John-Luke (@JohnLuke_PW) 12 July 2018
If you’re not familiar with the ‘Pay Your Age Day’ concept, basically Build-A-Bear teddies are usually around £20. However, with this offer you simply pay the age of the child. So if you have a two-year-old, you’ll pay £2. There is a minimum £1 charge for children under one.
To avoid the queues, customers are now being asked to register online (between now and June 16), at that point around 200,000 people worldwide will be invited to dedicated Pay Your Age slots between June 24 and 28.
A maximum of two children can get a bear with each ticket, but both children must be present on the day.
