Bodyguard’s Richard Madden Shocks Fans With Unrecogniseable Throwback Photo

He impressed audiences with his portrayal of Robb Stark, and has been nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in the BBC drama, Bodyguard.

However, it looks as though Richard Madden’s biggest achievement to date is his incredible transformation.

Taking to Instagram today, he shared an image of himself from 20 years ago, and it’s safe to say that he really does look unrecognisable.

The comments flooded in, with one fan writing: “You drank something magic or what?!! Lol don’t get me wrong but that good looking boy does not look like you… and you are very handsome by the way… I think you are teasing us!!”

Another could relate to Madden after he posted the picture: “Richard the man Madden once looked like a plain man like me? You are a legend and the best choice for Nightwing, sorry just a big fan. Much love.”

A third questioned whether or not the picture was really him: “I’m totally mind blown. I can’t even tell (& usually you can see some kind of resemblance).”

A final fan referenced Matthew Lewis, who played Neville in the Harry Potter movies: “I mean this with all sincerity but damn you Neville Longbottomed hard.”

This comes just days after he revealed that he used to get bullied in school for being overweight.

He told GQ: “My high school was really rough. Growing up was just constant humiliation really.

“I went to youth theatre to try and get a bit more confidence.

“In hindsight maybe not the best move to try and fit into a rough, very masculine school to say, ‘Now I do song and dance!'”

He continued: “I didn’t wear denim until I was 19 because my mum couldn’t take jeans up. So I wore f***ing chinos,

“[The bullying] is still a huge hangover around me.”
