American Horror Story Gets Multi-Season Renewal At FX

Fans are ‘screaming’ for more

Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are preparing to give us more nightmares as lang secures a multi-season renewal at FX. The horror anthology was already confirmed for a milestone tenth season, however, recent rumours suggested it could be the last.

Since its debut back in 2011, the all-star series has become the jewel in FX’s crown. Covering everything from murder houses to asylums, haunted hotels to apocalyptic wastelands — you name it, AHS has done it. Although some took the network’s hopes of it running to Season 20 as a joke, the latest news makes it a real possibility.

Speaking on the Television Critics Association winter press tour (via Entertainment Weekly), FX Networks Chairman John Landgraf confirmed American Horror Story has also been renewed for Season 11, 12, and 13.

Landgraf went on to call Murphy and Falchuk, “The undisputed masters of horror TV, having created the anthological limited series with American Horror Story and sustaining its success for nearly a decade as FX’s highest-rated series.”

He added, “AHS has showcased a wealth of award-winning actors since day one and we appreciate the contributions of everyone, including Ryan, Brad, and fellow executive producers Tim Minear, James Wong, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Bradley Buecker, the writers, directors, cast and crew for each new, unforgettable installment of American Horror Story.”

The recent American Horror Story: 1984 represented a changing of the guard as the first season NOT to include stalwart stars Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson. Still, many felt the summer camp slasher was the best AHS has been in years. Newcomers like Gus Kenworthy, Matthew Morrison, and Pose‘s Angelica Ross settled in alongside Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, Emma Roberts, and Leslie Grossman.

American Horror Story alumni Kathy Bates has already teased her epic return for Season 10, and while it looks like Jessica Lange really is done following her Apocalypse cameo, there are plenty of other famous faces who could be lured back.

There’s been a lot of talk about Season 10, but fans can rest assured there’s plenty more to come from Murhpy’s twisted mind. Personally, I’m just hoping they bring out a story about a haunted cruise liner. Anyone who’s seen the underrated Ghost Ship from 2002.

Murphy has already hinted those Coven girls will pop up at least one more time, so it could be lucky 13 for the acclaimed horror series. Whether you think American Horror Story started to go downhill with Freak Show or it’s just finding its stride, there’s a plethora of sex and slaughter about to splashed across your TV screens.
